Tresillian, the nearest village to Penhale is just 2 miles away with a garage, shop, post office and pub.

The cathedral city of Truro with its mainline railway station and comprehensive shopping facilities is 6 miles to the west. There is the Hall for Cornwall and a multi screen cinema as well as the museum and art galleries.

Newquay Airport is 30 minutes away by car.

The beaches of the Roseland Peninsula are just a few miles to the south and the delightful harbour side town of St Mawes is only a short drive from the cottage. The north coast with lovely sandy beaches is 30-40 minutes away by car.

There are many superb Cornish gardens within easy reach and the world famous Eden Project is only 20 minutes. Falmouth, with its harbour and new Maritime Museum, is only about 30 minutes away. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants in the area, but you do need a car. Details of hire cars can be supplied for those wishing to come by train or plane.
