Quay House at the port of Flushing stands just back from the quay, facing south and has charming large rooms, a small garden to the rear and a garden and summer house on the quay side. The quay garden is in front of the house, but separated by the no-through road from Flushing. The views from the house are stunning. They look south across Falmouth bay to Falmouth, the harbour, and the hills beyond. Even at low water there is water against the pier garden and the house itself is part 18th Century and part an extension added around 1820.

Mellinzeath was once the farmhouse of the miller in this wooded valley which has a thousand years of recorded history. Thought to have been rebuilt after a fire in 1665, it has been little altered since - a really forgotten house. It retains its original size, thick granite walls and many features. The house is thatched. In the floor is set a worn millstone; there are two fireplaces, a bread oven, a winding stair to a high trussed romantic roof. The bathroom, in an extension alongside, has an arched door and mediaeval windows reused from an older house. Outside, there are stone walls, a granite barn, streams & spring. Past a lawn sloping down to the south there is a long shallow pond and plenty of shallow streams for children to play in. You can walk round the hillsides - and also to a good pub. This is perhaps our most popular house, but you need a spirit of adventure. Stream through the woodsAlthough many visitors never leave the house, garden, water and woods, Mellinzeath is in the prime Helford River area, close to every facility of Falmouth, the Helford Estuary and Lizard Peninsula.

Bosvathick was a farming hamlet in the hilly farmland just inland from Falmouth. In 1760 it became the centre of a traditional estate & in 1884 the owners added a pretty lodge to one side of their main entrance, with its magnificent lions and balled piers. The Lodge (for which the first & only sketch was on the back of a now treasured envelope) was designed to be quaint. It was built for £210 of granite ashlar, with a pyramidal hipped roof of fish scale slate with deep eaves, decorated ridges and barges, a gabled porch and fine chimneys. The house is listed, and has been kept with its original features. The Lodge is charming. It has its own little drive, lawn and large garden with many trees on the south, with farmland beyond the garden. Across the road above the high Cornish stone banks is more farmland, a tree lined drive leading to tracks, wood & farmland where visitors are welcome to walk.
