Wayside Cottage

Wayside is situated in the Borrowdale Valley, at the Southern end of Derwent Water on the deservedly popular bridle path to Castle Crag, and Rosthwaite and Seatoller beyond. It has stunning views West to Maiden Moor, and East, to Grange Fell. This delightful cottage sleeps four, having one double room, and a twin. It has many original features including beams and flag stone flooring, and also a multi-fuel stove in the sitting room. For warm evenings there's a garden. For warm days, a river to swim or paddle in within a two minute stroll. There are two cafes in Grange village, and if it's a drink you're after, the Leathes Head Hotel is happy to serve non residents and is about a four minute stroll. The closest town, Keswick is four miles distant, and there are plenty of good restaurants, as well as tourist attractions there, and closer to 'home'.

This charming cottage is situated in the small village of Ireby in Northern Lakeland, with excellent views down and across the Eden Valley and is just 12 miles North of the very popular town of Keswick. The cottage, which was originally a barn, has retained some of its original character with exposed beams in the lounge and latched doors throughout. The accommodation is comfortably furnished to give it a cosy feel and is extremely well equipped.

There are three good pubs all of which offer excellent meals, a restaurant and village shop close at hand. Only minutes away is the Whinlatter Forest Visitor Centre, with its forest walks, Go Ape, children's adventure areas, tea room and shop, a great place for a family day out. Grisedale Pike, Causey Pike, Barrow and the beautiful Newlands Valley are all within easy walking distance of the doorstep.

The property is 4 miles from Keswick and a 10 minute walk to Derwentwater in which you walk through Manesty woods. Grange in Borrowdale is 1 mile down the road. There is also direct access straight onto the fells and lakeshore via the garden.
