Situated in beautiful open countryside on the Powys/ Shropshire border, The Old Hand & Diamond makes an excellent central base to visit all the delights of Shropshire’s county town – Shrewsbury, approximately 9 miles away (15 minutes by car). The Old Hand & Diamond Inn stands within its large car park, a children’s play area and beer garden is located off this, and there is plenty of outside seating on our sunny patio. We have seven en-suite bedrooms, decorated in a traditional country style with exposed beams and interesting features.

Its central location on the Castle Square overlooking the market and town makes it ideal for all the festivals, castle, bars etc. Draper's View is accessed just inside Quality Square, itself an attractive courtyard with cafes & shops. The apartment has superb views to the south and of St Lawrences. It bristles with old oak beams and is ideal for couples. With all mod cons, its a perfect home from home. A travel cot is provided if you have a young child. 

Well House B and B

Next door to a working farm, our lovely, wisteria-clad, oak-beamed, stone farm-house B and B, dates from 1714. We're five miles south of Clun, famous for the Clun Green Man and the Clun Beer festivals, and four miles from the Welsh border town of Knighton. Ludlow, well known for its Food Festival, is only fifteen miles away. Leintwardine, an ancient Roman military base where the rivers Clun and Teme join, is only a few miles away just inside Herefordshire, as are Lingen and Aymestrey. If you’re walking through Knighton along the Offa’s Dyke path we can arrange for you to be collected at the end of the day and returned the next morning.
