Near the Pennine Way, Marsden Moors (National Trust), Standedge Tunnel,& the television series,‘Where The Heart is’ is set in the nearest Village.

Near Slaithwaite, we are about 7 miles from Huddersfield. The holiday cottage and adjoining gardens (featured in the Magazine 25 Beautiful Gardens) are surrounded on three sides by woodland with Merrydale Clough to the east. Slaithwaite railway station is on the Newcastle to Liverpool route and the M62 is also within 5 minutes journey time. The nearby canal and Standedge Tunnel have been recently restored, and Tyas Cottage is within walking distance of the Pennine Way and Marsden, home of the Riverhead Brewery.
Despite its rural setting, we are surprisingly close to several major entertainment centres, ie Leeds, York, Manchester, Bradfield, Sheffield and the Peak district (including Chatsworth).
